The second stop on the 2007-2008 WSA Hobie Championship was held at “Surfer’s Point” in Ventura, CA. Unfortunately, the wave forecast did not hold up and the waves were pretty bad. Regardless, it was yet another fun WSA surf contest with a good amount of competitors.
This second surf contest turned out to be a better showing for us San Blas surfers, with Jose “Chuy” Velazquez taking third place in the “Men’s 18-29″ division and first place in the “Men’s Open”. I was able to sneak in with a second place finish in the “Men’s Open” division after being eliminated in the first heat of both divisions at the first surf contest in San Onofre.
